Sakuteiki 作庭記
will endeavour to explore the history of Japanese Landscape
Design and is so named to honour the oldest and most revered
Japanese garden design text.
Among other things relating to the history of Japanese Landscape Design, Sakuteiki 作庭記 will investigate whether there was a proto-religious influence or a proto-religious expression applied during the creation of the heritage gardens of Japan.
My hope is that Sakuteiki 作庭記 will shed some well-researched light onto some of the more mysterious origins of some heritage Japanese Gardens and also maybe I will add some more conjecture to the discussion on proto-religious and folkloric influences.
